Simpsons: Don't Say Goodbye by The-StarDog Simpsons: Don't Say Goodbye by The-StarDog
Medium: Sketched on paper and coloured in Photoshop 7.0
Time Taken: About 5 hours

As the town slowly became mad from their entrapment, they turned their focus to the mother and her teenage daughter, who had been caught stealing food. Every resident of Springfield was emaciated and short-fused, closing in on Ruth and Laura Powers as they crouched in front of the statue of their town's founder.
Ruth looked about desperately, but she knew that wherever they ran, they would be found. She knew that she hadn't been the best mother; in fact, far from it... She had stolen her ex-husband's car, been imprisoned for using steroids and on top of it all not being there for Laura when she needed her.
And now, Laura needed her more than ever.
And Ruth was there. And she wasn't budging. She protectively held onto her daughter behind her back, feeling the unfamiliar sensation of tears sting her eyes.
Ruth and Laura were both trembling in a heap, as they watched the crowd draw nearer, berating and threatening them.
"Run," Ruth whispered.
"What..? Mom, no, but I.."
Ruth hushed her softly. She focused her stare ahead toward their enemy as a single tear went down her cheek. She gritted her teeth.
"Laura, listen to me... Run. And don't look back."
"I love you, Mom.." Laura whispered, gently hugging Ruth's arm.
"I love you too."
Laura ran as fast as she could. Few chased her, mainly focusing on her mother who had now become the local criminal for trying to survive in this hell.
Ruth didn't stand a chance.

For those of you who don't know, Ruth and Laura Powers are two reoccurring characters in the Simpsons. For those of you who have seen the movie, the situation would make sense to you.

I always liked Ruth and Laura, despite their flaws. Just stunning personalities for two seldom-used characters who more than not appeared as extras.

This is part of a Simpsons fanfic I'm drafting which I hope to be finished with before the year's out.

I hope you enjoy it!

Suddenly the movie seems really depressing.

I always did like Laura. It's nice to see she's her in fanart, even if the situation is rather bleak here.

Wow... wow... wow... that's all I can think to say to this... just... wow. And... amazing, both the story and the pic, so dark and... well, dark, gives you a sort of insight to what might have been going on in the dome while the movie was just moving along. Love it, must fave it.

This is a really cool picture and I love the wonderfully dark story compliment. Ever since I saw the film I always found thinking about what the other characters went through inside that dome was pretty interesting. Just the way some of the smaller things seemed with a lot of the secondary characters seemed to tell a bunch of tales of their own. I know its taking it more seriously than probably necessary but I still got a bit of that sardonic, somewhat darker and double sided atmosphere the show originally had in mind even now when its arguably a lot more brighter. Plus the characters and setting in this were always really fun to darken up or complexify a bit.

But yeah, I always thought Ruth and Laura were pretty cool even if Laura was only in one episode and Ruth in a couple. They had that really flawed but endearing thing going that characters like Moe, Wiggum, Barney, and Homer have (hell great deal of them do actually.). Wonder how Ruth gets out of this, she survives at the end of the film. Someone decideds to be a better person and stop it?

I do remember them! Didn't Ruth have a Thelma and Louise moment with Marge?

Though I didn´t watched the movie, and I barely know those characters, the situation above makes complete sense to me - your artwork stand its grounds by itself, showing emotion to tell a story - and THAT is just one( out of so many )things that makes it so awesome, indeed!
